Just Bring The Cup Of Your Heart, HE’LL Supply THE LIVING WATER

ASKS

(Psalm 68:9 NIV- You gave abundant showers, O God; You refreshed Your weary inheritance.)

The other day, the sky was clear and blue and the sun was shining bright. It was extremely hot outside, yet still an incredibly beautiful day. And then all of a sudden, and I mean in an instance and out of nowhere— rain just came pouring down. Though the sun was shining and the sky was clear, the rain abundantly showered.

However, just as quickly as it had come, in the very next instance it simply stopped as if it had never started. In that moment, The Lord spoke to me and said, “That was just a reminder that when the “heat of life” seems unbearable, I Am there in the midst. And I can provide Living Water at a moment’s notice to renew, replenish, and refresh the hearts, minds, and spirits of the ones I love if only they would enter My Presence.”.

Beloved, Jesus is that Living Water and through His Holy Spirit we have an endless supply if only we would bring the cups of our hearts to Him that He may pour and we may drink.

  • (John 4:14 MSG- “Anyone who drinks the water I give will never thirst—not ever. The water I give will be an artesian spring within, gushing fountains of endless Life.”)
  • (John 7:37-39 MSG- Jesus took His stand. He cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. Rivers of Living Water will brim and spill out of the depths of anyone who believes in Me this way, just as the Scripture says.” (He said this in regard to The Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were about to receive. The Spirit had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.))

Had I not been outside, I would’ve never been able to feel the refreshing coolness of rain in the midst of the heat. The same can be said in regards to our relationship with God. If we never enter His Presence, we’ll never know The Life, Love, and replenishing calmness that is His Holy Spirit when the “heat of life” seems trying and unwavering. The Father says, it is in choosing to seek Him that we truly find Him.

  • (Proverbs 8:17 NIV- I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me find Me.)
  • (Jeremiah 29:11-13 GNT-  I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. Then you will call to Me. You will come and pray to Me, and I will answer you. You will seek Me, and you will find Me because you will seek Me with all your heart.)

Dear Hearts, can I just encourage you to intimately seek Him with your whole heart today? Our Heavenly Father is longing to be in relationship with you. His Word says seek because His heart deeply desires intimacy with you. It is in that intimate and personal time with Him that He can pour out The Living Water that is His Spirit upon you and shower you with His love and grace. It is in that secret place that God reveals His promises and purpose for the beauty that is your beating heart and His breath within you. You are His most treasured possession. (Deuteronomy 7:6 MSG- You are a people set apart as holy to God, your God. God, your God, chose you out of all the people on earth for Himself as a cherished, personal treasure.)

Abba, I come to You this morning on behalf of every treasured being reading this asking and praying that You would help them to seek Your face with the understanding that it is in Your Presence that they shall find true Life. Father, I ask that You would pour out Your Holy and perfect Spirit upon them and shower them with The Living Water that is Your Life, Love, peace, joy, grace, mercy, wisdom, and strength. Let the purpose and power for Your breath within them prevail and every promise that You have for their lives spring forth. Abba, You are worthy, willing, and able. You are not just sufficient, but You are our more than enough. Let Your glory rest upon those that You treasure. I praise You for simply being You and I praise You for their lives.  In the name of Jesus Christ, Your precious Son, and our Lord and Savior— I pray, Amen and so be it.

“Christ is not a reservoir but a spring. His Life is continual, active and ever passing on with an outflow as necessary as its inflow. If we do not perpetually draw the fresh supply from The Living Fountain, we shall either grow stagnant or empty, It is, therefore, not so much a perpetual fullness as a perpetual filling.” ~ Albert Benjamin “A.B.” Simpson

HIS Name Alone Is Enough

ASKS

(Exodus 3:13-14 AMP- And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!)

In reading today’s focal passage, I was reminded of this powerful truth— in and through every situation and every circumstance the name of The Lord is enough.

I dream and believe on a level that even I am often astonished by, but I know in my heart that as long as God is with me I have strength for all things. (Philippians 4:13 AMP- I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency.)

But what happens when God calls us to do something that is so much greater than what we feel we have the ability to accomplish? What happens in those moments when we’re seeking His provision, but can’t necessarily feel His Presence or hear His voice?

The answer is, whether we can hear His voice or feel Him with us or not— He’s always there. And we simply have to know and trust that what ever He asks of us or wherever He’s leading us, He’s already prepared the way. (Exodus 23:20 NIV- See, I Am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.)

I made a covenant with God that I would surrender to His Will and blindly follow wherever He leads. Meaning, I don’t have to see to believe. I don’t have to know or even understand to trust His process.

I can tell you from experience that this is a journey that has not always been easy and I’ve certainly had moments when I’ve felt like giving up. But I can also tell you that choosing to trust Him has been the best decision that I’ve ever made in my entire life. I am acutely aware of how His Presence in my life is continually molding me and making me greater in Him. And for that, I am eternally grateful.

As “genius” as I am, I’m still human and far from perfect. In all honesty, I still have moments where I feel inadequate and even unqualified to do the majority of what God has planted in my heart to accomplish. However, the beauty in that is, it’s not about what I feel, but in Whom I trust because in Him— I am sufficient.

Like Moses, I’ve had those “But Lord, what if?” moments and like Moses, God has always reminded me that in all things, in all situations, and in all circumstances— His name alone is enough!

I Am has sent me to you and today I just want to remind you that no matter what you’re going through or struggling with, God is with you. And in those moments when fear and doubt start to creep in remember that He is enough and you are sufficient in Him.

Dear Heavenly Father, today and everyday, let Your Holy Presence ever-increase within our hearts and in our lives. Lord, no matter how tedious the journey help us to trust You always and never doubt. Help us to realize and understand that You are more than sufficient, You will sustain us, and in You our worth and value are incomparable. Abba, whenever we lose sight of that truth, remind us that to simply call on Your name is enough. In the name of Jesus Christ, Your precious Son, and our Lord and Savior— I pray, Amen and so be it.

“If you took the love of all the best mothers and fathers who ever lived (think about that for a moment) — all the goodness, kindness, patience, fidelity, wisdom, tenderness, strength and love — and united all those virtues in one person, that person would only be a faint shadow of the love and mercy in the heart of God for you and me.” ~ Brennan Manning

EL ROI— THE GOD WHO Sees Me

ASKS

(2 Chronicles 16:9 NLT- The eyes of The Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.)

Today’s focal verse reminded me of the sweetest little phrase spoken to me by one of my favorite sisters in Christ during our #RaRaLinkup party yesterday. She simply stated, “El Roi— He sees and loves you with a perfect love.”.

I was immediately drawn to her words because in truly allowing my heart to embrace them I became very cognizant of how abysmal and unfathomable The Lord’s love is for me. Each and every word deeply resonated within my heart.

El Roi is Hebrew for “The God Who sees me”.

How often do we truly think of The Lord as The God Who see us? The One Who loves us so much that out of all of the millions of people in this world, He looks down from heaven searching the entire earth to strengthen that one, longing, individual heart with His unequivocal love? The One Who knows us better that we know ourselves and graciously and selflessly sends His perfect Holy Spirit to guide us to the greatness that He’s purposed for our lives? (Jeremiah 1:5 MSG- “Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you.)

I think it’s sometimes hard for us as mere human beings to conceptualize that our sovereign God knows and loves us personally and individually. Meaning He sees and knows each us to the core of who we are and still His love pursues us. It seeks to capture and consume our hearts and when it does, it’s sufficient, it’s unconditional, and it never wavers.

Yes, our God is mighty and matchless in power as our Creator, but the same can also be said about His love for us as our Heavenly Father. I respect and honor Him as Creator, but I know and love Him as Father; The One Who sees and loves me with a perfect love.

And so, today, my heart’s greatest prayer for you is that you would know, love, and embrace Him as The One Who sees and loves you with a perfect love.

Heavenly Father, help us to comprehend that Your love seeks us personally and individually. Help us to accept and reciprocate such a love that by nature is foreign to us. Help us to understand that it pursues us with the intent to mend, heal, and restore every broken piece of our hearts to the beauty in which You created and intended for them to beat within us. Lord, today and everyday forth, help us to know, see, and believe that You are The One Who sees and loves us with a perfect love. In the name of Jesus Christ, Your precious Son, and our Lord and Savior— I pray, Amen and so be it.

“My trust in God flows out of the experience of His loving me, day in and day out, whether the day is stormy or fair, whether I’m sick or in good health, whether I’m in a state of grace or disgrace. He comes to me where I live and loves me as I am.” ~ Brennan Manning

HIS Whispers Roar Louder Than Our Storms

ASKS

(Matthew 8:23-27 AMP- And after He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly, behold, there arose a violent storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered up by the waves; but He was sleeping. And they went and awakened Him, saying, Lord, rescue and preserve us! We are perishing! And He said to them, Why are you timid and afraid, O you of little faith? Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great and wonderful calm; a perfect peaceableness. And the men were stunned with bewildered wonder and marveled, saying, What kind of Man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him!)

Yesterday during my daily morning prayer time it felt as if the thunder from the storm literally shook the earth around me. As a little girl, I can remember running to hide in the hallway closet of my childhood home every time a storm would come because for some reason I was deathly afraid of storms and I just felt safe there. Growing up that dark, small space had somehow become my place of refuge through every storm.

I have no idea why, but I had always been afraid of storms every since I was a very small child which was always funny to my family and friends, especially as I became an adult. But in deeply seeking God, building a relationship with Him, and trusting in Him with my life and not just with storm-related fears, but with my life in general, I haven’t been fearful of it storming in many years. What I felt yesterday was much different than the fear that always struck my heart like lightning during those storms that terrified me as a little girl.

Long before the storm had come yesterday, I was already in the closet. You see as an adult, the closet is very much so still my safe place. However, it has nothing to do with thunderstorms, but “lifestorms” instead.

My closet has become a very sacred place; a place very near and dear to my heart because it’s the place that I have the pleasure and privilege of intimately meeting with The Lord every single morning. It’s a place where it’s just He and I. It’s the one place where I can put my fears, worries, and concerns to death which allows my dreams, hopes, and the deepest desires of my heart to be resurrected providing them this everlasting life within me. It’s that place where His Presence always seems to amply abound— and in His Presence, it is there that I find true love, peace, strength, comfort, encouragement, inspiration, wisdom, understanding, purpose, and joy. (Psalm 16:11 CEV- You have shown me the path to Life, and You make me glad by being near to me. Sitting at Your right side, I will always be joyful.)

Yesterday, in the midst of that storm and as the thunder rattled and uproariously rumbled around me there wasn’t even the slightest notion of fear. In fact, I smiled as I felt the peace of His Holy Spirit fill and consume my heart. (John 14:26-27 AMP- The Comforter; Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby, The Holy Spirit, Whom The Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you. Peace I leave with you; My own peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.)

I find it amazing that even the faintest whisper of His voice speaking to my heart roared so much louder than the thunder from the storm ever could. And as I began to reflect upon that, I came to the realization that even as a little girl who didn’t fully understand what it meant to be in The Presence of The Lord or able to conceptualize what it meant to hear His voice— there in that dark, small space— He was always with me. And in Him being the all-knowing phenomenal God that He is, He knew that many years later yesterday’s storm would come and as I basked in ambiance of His Presence He would be able to remind me and bring to my remembrance that even as a very small child with no clear knowledge or understanding of what it meant to find peace in Him, He was there providing it anyway simply because I belonged to Him, He loves me, and knew my need for it. (Philippians 4:19 NIRV- My God will meet all your needs. He will meet them in keeping with His wonderful riches. These riches come to you because you belong to Christ Jesus.)

What yesterday’s storm and today’s focal passage reminded me of is— our God has the power to calm any and every storm. Whether it’s a thunderstorm rattling the world around us or a lifestorm rattling and wrecking the walls of our hearts, each can be calmed, stilled, and brought to perfect peace in His Presence. So today, I just want to encourage you to find a place where you can intimately and privately seek God’s Presence because when you call on the name of our God, He will lovingly and altruistically come. (James 4:8 NLT- Come close to God, and God will come close to you.)

He loves you with this unconditional, everlasting, all-consuming, amazing, incomparable, eternal love and He’s waiting to hear your voice. In your secret place, He’s waiting to hold you in His arms so He can whisper to your heart to quiet and calm your every storm. Wherever your storms may rage, trust that His voice can and will bring you unspeakable and indescribable love, peace, and comfort just as Jesus had done on the boat with His disciples that day and just as His Holy Spirit has done with me within the walls of my prayer closet for all of these years.

Heavenly Father, for every person reading this touch and speak to their hearts like only you can. Lord, in Your Presence bestow upon them Your love, joy, peace, and strength. Open the ears of their hearts allowing the calming, Life-giving whisper of Your voice to always roar louder than the thunder within their storms. Lord, never leave them. Be with them always because I know that wherever You are there is perfect peace and I want that for each and every one of their hearts. In the name of Jesus Christ, Your precious Son, and our Lord and Savior— I pray, Amen and so be it.

YOU, LORD, Keep My Lamp Burning

ASKS

(Psalm 18:28-36 NIV- You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. With Your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall. As for God, His way is perfect: The Lord’s Word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him. For who is God besides The Lord? And who is The Rock except our God? It is God Who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He causes me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You make Your saving help my shield, and Your right hand sustains me; Your help has made me great. You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.)

Today’s focal passage was a beautiful reminder for me of all that God brings to my life. I thought about how He truly is perfection; incomparable and all-powerful, yet loving, gracious, and faithful.

The verse above says, “For who is God besides The Lord?”. That truly fueled my spirit this morning because there is no one greater than our God. He loves us to the core of who we are. He knows our hearts from it’s greatest joy to it’s deepest burden and provides the strength we need accordingly.

The other day, I told a friend of mine that I just love when God provides exactly what we need in the exact and very moment that we need it most. So, when I tell you that I am continually amazed by Him, I mean that with all of my heart because what He gives, only He can give. I have learned to trust that He’ll supply all of my needs whether it’s in the exact moment that I feel I need it most or not. I know that He is unwaveringly faithful, His promises endure forever, and HIS timing is flawless.

“You, Lord, keep my lamp burning” … What a powerful and incredibly beautiful truth to allow our hearts to take a hold of. To me that means if I cry out to Him and He doesn’t immediately give me the provision that I seek, His Light will sustain me until He does. (Psalm 119:105 NIV- Your Word is a Lamp for my feet, a Light on my path.) I find that truth absolutely amazing!

Today, I just want you to know that our God is sovereign! Even when you don’t get the instant or immediate response that you seek, know that when He does answer it will be perfection. He Is The Lord and He will keep your lamp burning! You will radiantly shine by His Light!

When You Are Weakest, You Are Strongest

ASKS

(Philippians 4:13 AMP- I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency.)

When we’re feeling troubled, weak, and torn or let down our first thought or initial assessment is usually not that we’re positioned in a place of eternal strength. In all honesty, our initial response emotionally is usually a sense of brokenness, hopelessness, and despair. But The Word of God says, when we’re at our lowest and weakest point, that’s when we’re able to truly experience the perfection that is His grace; that’s when we’re able too see the strength and glory of Christ come to fruition in it’s greatest form within our lives. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NOG- But He told me: “My kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.” So I will brag even more about my weaknesses in order that Christ’s power will live in me. Therefore, I accept weakness, mistreatment, hardship, persecution, and difficulties suffered for Christ. It’s clear that when I’m weak, I’m strong.)

I often tell people that they are gems in whom our God treasures, but I think more often than not they take it as just a kind gesture and not as the love and life that I speak it forth in faith over their lives as; not as a promise of truth that is to be sincerely embraced within their hearts. I don’t think they realize or understand that I say it because God has gifted us the treasure of Christ’s Spirit to live within our hearts and we then in turn radiate and glow of the very essence that is His beauty and majesty. (2 Corinthians 4:6-7 NLT- For God, Who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.)

Though Jesus endured brutal suffering, He overcame and conquered it all, even death itself. And He loves and values us so much that He chose to instill that same power within us by sending us His perfect Holy Spirit. My point is, there is nothing that shall come against us in this world that we don’t hold the power to conquer. God so treasures us that He allows us embody very the light, love, and life of Jesus within us ensuring that nothing will be too difficult for us to bear or too hard for us to endure and that we will always overcome victoriously through The Spirit of our Savior! (2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NLT- We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.)

Today, I pray over you and encourage you with my whole heart to take ahold of the truth of this great promise from our Heavenly Father: When you are at your weakest, you are at your strongest because The Spirit of Christ living on the inside of you will eternally be your strength!

Hope In THE LORD Never Disappoints

ASKS

(Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT: God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.)

Our God has made everything beautiful for its own time. Did you know that that includes you?

Today’s focal verse says, “He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end”. I think the eternity that He’s planted in our hearts solidify that we have the capacity to infinitely place our hope in Him even when we can’t see or feel Him at work in our lives. In other words, He created us with the capacity and power that our hope would forever increase and never fail.

I find it pretty amazing that He instilled this incredible gift of hope in our hearts that we would forever be encouraged and uplifted through our faith in Him. (Roman 5:1-5 MSG- By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with Him, make us fit for Him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that He has already thrown open His door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise. There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through The Holy Spirit!)

You guys our God is faithful! He created us with the beauty of being able to hope in every situation and circumstance. Imagine how much He loves us that He would bestow such a gift upon us. He never promised that our life’s journey would be free of troubles, trials, and tribulations, but He did promise to love, protect, and be with us every step along the way. (John 16:33 AMP- I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have perfect peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer, take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted! For I have overcome the world. I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.)

My greatest prayer for you today is that you would embrace the gift of hope that God has placed within your heart and entrust that hope within His care allowing Him to make the beauty that He has prepared for your life your reality. I can’t promise you that your life will be perfect, but I can promise you that hope in The Lord never fails or disappoints. (Hebrews 10:23 AMP- So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable, sure, and faithful to His Word.)

Trade Your Ashes For HIS Crown

ASKS

(Isaiah 61:3 NIV- Bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of The Lord for the display of His splendor.)

One of my favorite songs to listen to as I’m praying in the mornings is a song called “Glorious Ruins” by Hillsong. More so than music itself, I am a lover of lyrics. I listen to every single word of a song. And so as I’m praying, I like to listen to songs that will relay the worship and the cry of my heart to the heart of God because sometimes I’m in such awe of Him and so amazed that I have the honor and privilege of being in His Presence that I simply can’t find the words to speak forth on my own. If you’ve followed my blog then you know that I am a crier and my deepest and most intimate form of worship is displayed through my tears.

This morning as “Glorious Ruins” began to play and I began to sing, I felt those words truly take root it my spirit. I was filled with The Presence of The Lord and I just wept. Part of the song says: “When the mountains fall and the tempest roar You are with me. When creation folds still my soul will soar on Your mercy. I’ll walk through the fire with my head lifted high and my spirit revived in Your story. And I’ll look to the cross as my failure is lost in the light of Your glorious grace. Let the ruins come to Life in the beauty of Your name. Rising up from the ashes God forever You reign. And my soul will find refuge in the shadow of Your wings. I will love You forever and forever I’ll sing”.

Those words truly translate my gratitude for all that God is and has brought to my life. They reminded me that at the cross our failure is lost and replaced with the honor and privilege to stand, walk, live, and breathe in His incredible purpose for our lives. They reminded me of the truth that lies within today’s focal passage and the beauty that it relays from God’s heart to ours. We get to trade in our ashes to behold the beauty of His crown!

God wants to take all of the ruin, ash, and despair that burdens us and replace it with His crown of beauty, His oil of joy, and His garment of praise. He created us in His glorious image. His splendor rests upon and within us and we should never be ashamed or afraid to embrace that and look, live, and love as such. Through Jesus our ruins radiantly come to Life in such magnificent form. Where we see ruins within ourselves, God sees treasure because He knows the beauty that He created within us.

So today, I want to encourage you to not focus on your ruins, but to focus on Jesus and allow Him to show you the beauty and Life that lies within you through His Holy Spirit. Today, I want you to make the choice to trade your ashes for His crown! Live in the light, love, and Life that He provides! He’s worth it and so are you! (John 8:12 NLT- Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I Am The Light of the world. If you follow Me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have The Light that leads to Life.”)

Which Will You Rely On Most, Your Feelings Or GOD?

ASKS

(Exodus 4:10-12 NLT- Moses pleaded with The Lord, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though You have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.”. Then The Lord asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, The Lord? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.”)

Today’s focal passage reminded me that whether we feel we’re able to do or accomplish something or not, if God says, “Go!” then we must trust Him and do so knowing that He will never send us on a journey where we’ll have to travel alone. He will always be with us illuminating our way.

I think many of us, like Moses have had times or been in situations where we’ve simply felt inadequate. The truth is sometimes our feelings will lead us astray. The enemy is very strategic. His plan of attack will always be where we’re most vulnerable and for most of us the perception that we have of ourselves and how we “feel” will always come into play. It’s vital that we know our worth and that we never let anyone or anything rob us of how valuable we are.

I just want to encourage you guys to trust God’s provision no matter how you feel. His voice will always guide you to greatness! Believe that He has equipped and gifted you with everything that you need to conqueror what ever it is that He’s calling you to do. Embrace your purpose because you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Own your gifts and illuminate those dreams that you’ve kept hidden in your heart. (Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV- Blessed is the one who trusts in The Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.)

A Heart Longing To Pray Like JESUS

ASKS

(Luke 22:39-44 CEB- Jesus left and made His way to the Mount of Olives, as was His custom, and the disciples followed Him. When He arrived, He said to them, “Pray that you won’t give in to temptation.”. He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed. He said, “Father, if it’s Your Will, take this cup of suffering away from Me. However, not My Will but Your Will must be done.”. Then a heavenly angel appeared to Him and strengthened Him. He was in anguish and prayed even more earnestly. His sweat became like drops of blood falling on the ground.)

Today’s focal passage truly humbled my heart. It reminded me that though Jesus is 100% God; omniscient and omnipotent, He was also 100% man which means He was fully aware of what it means to truly feel and live life as a human being. The more I read the more my heart and my thoughts were drawn to Him. He knowingly held all power as God, yet as man His heart still remained completely obedient to the Will of God The Father.

Jesus withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed. He said, “Father, if it’s Your Will, take this cup of suffering away from Me. However, not My Will but Your Will must be done.”. Above and beyond His own Will and through His suffering and affliction, it was still more important to Him to honor the Will of His Father. How often do we truly pray for God’s Will to manifest in our lives above our own?

Throughout this entire passage of Scripture there was one word that I stood in complete awe of… if. Notice that as Jesus was praying He didn’t just ask God to remove Him from the dolor and distress that He was bearing. He said, “Father, “if” it’s Your Will, take this cup of suffering away from Me.”. To me, He was saying, “Father, remove this cup of suffering away from Me only “if” it’s what You desire to accomplish through My life”. Jesus treasured God’s plan and purpose above His own life! And He loved and valued us enough to remain obedient to what He knew in His heart God had called Him to do. I’m so amazed by that!

I’ve gained valuable life gems through reading today’s passage. Jesus suffered and endured so much more than I will ever have to bear, yet instead of complaining, He prayed. He wholeheartedly trusted God with His life whether it was going to be for Him to live or to die and our God is so amazing that even through death, He gave and still gives Life.

There are two things that I want you guys to take with you today: Jesus valued prayer because He had faith in what intimately conversing with God had the power to accomplish in and through His life and He knew that even if He had to suffer that God had an incredible purpose for it. (Romans 8:28-30 NIV- We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.)

Don’t get discouraged by your trials, tribulations, or circumstances, but be encouraged that you serve The God Who has the power to deliver you from them! (1 Peter 5:10 NLV- After you have suffered for awhile, God Himself will make you perfect. He will keep you in the right way. He will give you strength. He Is The God of all loving-favor and has called you through Christ Jesus to share His shining-greatness forever.)

I don’t know about you guys, but my heart is longing to pray like Jesus; constantly, relentlessly, selflessly, and faithfully! Our God gives Life and that Life is found in knowing Him intimately. I pray that through your prayers, you become divinely connected and acquainted with God so that His Presence, power, promises, purpose, and provision will reign in your life always!

I love you guys!
