(Psalms 119:114 TPT- You’re my place of quiet retreat, and Your wrap-around Presence becomes my shield as I wrap myself in Your Word!)
Today’s focal verse captivates my heart every single time I read it. It’s like it’s truth just reawakens within me this resounding reverence for The Presence of God and the promise of His Word.
I’ve read the Bible almost everyday for the last 9 years, but over the last several months, I’ve really made a conscious effort to not just read The Word, but to truly sit with it, camp out in it, soak in it, feast upon it, revel it’s truth, earnestly and deeply meditate on it’s promises, and just internalize it’s every word. Or as today’s focal verse simply, yet powerfully puts it— wrap myself in IT.
Abba, You are our place of quiet retreat, and Your wrap-around Presence becomes our shield as we wrap ourselves in Your Word!
A few weeks ago, I was just sitting on the sofa reading my Bible and I heard The Lord say, “I love it when you marvel at My Word.”
The Bible says that Jesus, Himself is The Word. (John 1:1-4 AMP)
So, just imagine with me for a moment that every time you engage with, feast upon, or marvel at The Word of God, what you’re actually doing is wrapping yourself in it’s promise. Which would mean that as you wrap yourself in it’s promise, you are in fact wrapping, enveloping, encasing, and covering yourself in Jesus Himself, Who is The Word’s Living Expression.
For me, the thought of His Presence being wrapped around us protecting us, strengthening and empowering us, revealing truth and wisdom to us, instilling peace and joy within us, and covering and filling us with and in the pure love that is Him provoked the following thoughts: “For who is God besides The Lord? Who is The Rock except our God?”
There is truly no one like Him. What a God you are! Your path for me has been perfect! All Your promises have proven true. What a secure shelter for all those who turn to hide themselves in You! You are the wrap-around God giving grace to me. Could there be any other god like you? You are the only God to be worshiped, for there is not a more secure foundation to build my life upon than You. You have wrapped me in power, and now You’ve shared with me Your perfection. (Psalms 18:30-32 TPT)
This morning, I would like to leave you with this one question to ponder. Is there anything in this life more vitally essential, beautifully true, and unquestionably powerful than The Word, Who is Jesus Christ, Himself?
And in closing, my prayer for you guys is this: that you would be wrapped, clothed, and immersed in The Word daily wholly becoming one with it’s truth. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray that you would abide and live in life-union with Christ and never, not even for a single moment be separate from The Life, Love, and Truth that is Him.
“Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ within me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.” – Saint Patrick

All too often we fail to ‘camp with the Word’ and just skim over it. Thank you for the reminder that we can only feel wrapped if we give time to our relationship.

Thank you so much for your prayers in reference to my podcast. I so need and appreciate them. The Lord had been speaking to me about doing it for a long time and I’ve let fear hold me back. Finally, letting go of that and just trying to be obedient to what He’s asked of me. 🙂
And thank you so much for visiting with me today! Love, hugs, and blessings to you, Sister! ❤🤗🙏🏾
