HIS Name Alone Is Enough

ASKS

(Exodus 3:13-14 AMP- And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!)

In reading today’s focal passage, I was reminded of this powerful truth— in and through every situation and every circumstance the name of The Lord is enough.

I dream and believe on a level that even I am often astonished by, but I know in my heart that as long as God is with me I have strength for all things. (Philippians 4:13 AMP- I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency.)

But what happens when God calls us to do something that is so much greater than what we feel we have the ability to accomplish? What happens in those moments when we’re seeking His provision, but can’t necessarily feel His Presence or hear His voice?

The answer is, whether we can hear His voice or feel Him with us or not— He’s always there. And we simply have to know and trust that what ever He asks of us or wherever He’s leading us, He’s already prepared the way. (Exodus 23:20 NIV- See, I Am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.)

I made a covenant with God that I would surrender to His Will and blindly follow wherever He leads. Meaning, I don’t have to see to believe. I don’t have to know or even understand to trust His process.

I can tell you from experience that this is a journey that has not always been easy and I’ve certainly had moments when I’ve felt like giving up. But I can also tell you that choosing to trust Him has been the best decision that I’ve ever made in my entire life. I am acutely aware of how His Presence in my life is continually molding me and making me greater in Him. And for that, I am eternally grateful.

As “genius” as I am, I’m still human and far from perfect. In all honesty, I still have moments where I feel inadequate and even unqualified to do the majority of what God has planted in my heart to accomplish. However, the beauty in that is, it’s not about what I feel, but in Whom I trust because in Him— I am sufficient.

Like Moses, I’ve had those “But Lord, what if?” moments and like Moses, God has always reminded me that in all things, in all situations, and in all circumstances— His name alone is enough!

I Am has sent me to you and today I just want to remind you that no matter what you’re going through or struggling with, God is with you. And in those moments when fear and doubt start to creep in remember that He is enough and you are sufficient in Him.

Dear Heavenly Father, today and everyday, let Your Holy Presence ever-increase within our hearts and in our lives. Lord, no matter how tedious the journey help us to trust You always and never doubt. Help us to realize and understand that You are more than sufficient, You will sustain us, and in You our worth and value are incomparable. Abba, whenever we lose sight of that truth, remind us that to simply call on Your name is enough. In the name of Jesus Christ, Your precious Son, and our Lord and Savior— I pray, Amen and so be it.

“If you took the love of all the best mothers and fathers who ever lived (think about that for a moment) — all the goodness, kindness, patience, fidelity, wisdom, tenderness, strength and love — and united all those virtues in one person, that person would only be a faint shadow of the love and mercy in the heart of God for you and me.” ~ Brennan Manning

  5. This has always been my favorite passage in the Bible. I can be tempted to look at myself, my weaknesses, failures, and all I lack and say, “But I can’t even talk right!” I’ve come to understand that I have to keep my eyes off myself and trust that He molded me. He is the Potter and I am the clay. The clay doesn’t question, “What are you doing?” He knows and He gives me the grace and power I need.

  6. Amen. Thanks for sharing this lovely piece Tai.
Such simple truths. God is always there for us. Whenever we accept to follow His, He ensures that everything we need in accomplishing that is provided. This one encouragement I always have whenever I feel the Lord leading me to do a particular thing. He never calls us and leave us to cater for ourselves.
When I began blogging, sometime in 2013, I had moved from the wordpress.com to a self hosted blog. It was hard maintaining the blog plus all the financial commitment. I thought of monetizing the blog, some friends encouraged me to, when I prayed about it, The Lord told me: “that was not the idea… that is not what I asked you to do. I don’t want you earning from that blog… just write, encourage, inspire, let people be drawn to me– there lies your reward, I will provide everything you need to keep the blog going when the need arises… I will take care of you and give you other means to earn money”
This was hard for me, I struggled with it for days, but I finally gave in and I can say He has been there all along as the Ever-present One, Sufficient for me…
Sometimes its hard accept God’s will for certain areas of our lives and calling, but there is always a blessing, peace we enjoy when we decide to trust.

    Best Regards Sis.

  8. Amen, and so be it! Beautiful! I just wrote about the power in the name of Jesus in a recent blog and the amazing light we carry within as the Holy Spirit within us illuminates Jesus, bringing glory to God. The name is a beautiful thing! I love your heart to remind us that I AM is always with us and He is enough. Always. No matter our trial, issue, stumbling, disappointment, pain, illness, trial, loss, discouragement….. “That to simply call on YOUR name is enough.” Amen!! Much love to you, Sis! Shining that light…love you for it!

  11. This is good, Tai. I read it yesterday and then got distracted when I was about to leave a comment.

This is SO where we are living right now. I can relate to this comment, “I made a covenant with GOD that I would surrender to HIS Will and blindly follow wherever HE leads.”

That is what we have done in our ministry as well, and sometimes it challenges me down deep to the core. To walk daily with Jesus trusting Him to bring what He will.

I appreciate you and your kind words on my blog!

I’m always grateful to connect with a sweet sister in this blogging world~
    Blessings to you,
