HIS Name Alone Is Enough

ASKS

(Exodus 3:13-14 AMP- And Moses said to GOD, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, THE GOD of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is HIS name? What shall I say to them? And GOD said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM and WHAT I AM, and I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE; and HE said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you!)

In reading today’s focal passage, I was reminded of this powerful truth— in and through every situation and every circumstance the name of THE LORD is enough.

I dream and believe on a level that even I am often astonished by, but I know in my heart that as long as GOD is with me I have strength for all things. (Philippians 4:13 AMP- I have strength for all things in CHRIST WHO empowers me; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through HIM WHO infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in CHRIST’S sufficiency.)

But what happens when GOD calls us to do something that is so much greater than what we feel we have the ability to accomplish? What happens in those moments when we’re seeking HIS provision, but can’t necessarily feel HIS PRESENCE or hear HIS voice?

The answer is, whether we can hear HIS voice or feel HIM with us or not— HE’S always there. And we simply have to know and trust that what ever HE asks of us or wherever HE’S leading us, HE’S already prepared the way. (Exodus 23:20 NIV- See, I AM sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.)

I made a covenant with GOD that I would surrender to HIS Will and blindly follow wherever HE leads. Meaning, I don’t have to see to believe. I don’t have to know or even understand to trust HIS process.

I can tell you from experience that this is a journey that has not always been easy and I’ve certainly had moments when I’ve felt like giving up. But I can also tell you that choosing to trust HIM has been the best decision that I’ve ever made in my entire life. I am acutely aware of how HIS PRESENCE in my life is continually molding me and making me greater in HIM. And for that, I am eternally grateful.

As “genius” as I am, I’m still human and far from perfect. In all honesty, I still have moments where I feel inadequate and even unqualified to do the majority of what GOD has planted in my heart to accomplish. However, the beauty in that is, it’s not about what I feel, but in WHOM I trust because in HIM— I am sufficient.

Like Moses, I’ve had those “But LORD, what if?” moments and like Moses, GOD has always reminded me that in all things, in all situations, and in all circumstances— HIS name alone is enough!

I AM has sent me to you and today I just want to remind you that no matter what you’re going through or struggling with, GOD is with you. And in those moments when fear and doubt start to creep in remember that HE is enough and you are sufficient in HIM.

Dear HEAVENLY FATHER, today and everyday, let YOUR HOLY PRESENCE ever-increase within our hearts and in our lives. LORD, no matter how tedious the journey help us to trust YOU always and never doubt. Help us to realize and understand that YOU are more than sufficient, YOU will sustain us, and in YOU our worth and value are incomparable. ABBA, whenever we lose sight of that truth, remind us that to simply call on YOUR name is enough. In the name of JESUS CHRIST, YOUR precious SON, and our LORD and SAVIOR— I pray, Amen and so be it.

“If you took the love of all the best mothers and fathers who ever lived (think about that for a moment) — all the goodness, kindness, patience, fidelity, wisdom, tenderness, strength and love — and united all those virtues in one person, that person would only be a faint shadow of the love and mercy in the heart of GOD for you and me.” ~ Brennan Manning

Wear LOVE Everywhere You Go

ASKS

(Colossians 3:14 MSG- And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.)

The NLV of today’s focal verse says— And to all these things, you must add love. Love holds everything and everybody together and makes all these good things perfect.

The words from today’s focal verse truly moved me because in a world where it sometimes seems like everything is going wrong, THE WORD of GOD says, to truly love has the power and ability to make all things perfect.

The more I seek GOD and the more I’m praying, “Less of me and more of YOU, LORD”, the more HE makes me aware of the hurt and brokenness of this world and in the hearts of the people around me. I often sense heartache within a person without even conversing with them and sometimes without even knowing them at all.

So yesterday morning when I saw the image above that said, “Wear LOVE everywhere you go.”, it made me think of the following passage of SCRIPTURE— (1 John 4:7-12 NIV- Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from GOD. Everyone who loves has been born of GOD and knows GOD. Whoever does not love does not know GOD, because GOD IS LOVE. This is how GOD showed HIS love among us: HE sent HIS one and only SON into the world that we might live through HIM. This is love: not that we loved GOD, but that HE loved us and sent HIS SON as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since GOD so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen GOD; but if we love one another, GOD lives in us and HIS love is made complete in us.).

GOD IS LOVE. So, to truly wear love means that we’ve surrendered our lives to THE LORD; that we’re so deeply and intimately connected to HIM that the people around us don’t see us, but instead, they see HIS heart, HIS LOVE, and HIS LIFE displayed in and through our lives.

“Love holds everything and everybody together and makes all these good things perfect” doesn’t simply refer to love as an emotion, but to the perfect and sovereign PRESENCE of GOD, HIMSELF. What it really means is that, it’s HIS HOLY being that’s holding everyone and everything together and making all things perfect.

I long to love with the heart and love of our SAVIOR and I may not be able to change the world, but I’ve made a covenant with GOD that I’m going to truly wear love everywhere I go and strive to always let my words be a reflection of HIS PRESENCE in my life. And in doing that, I’m praying that every heart within “my world” will be changed.

Today, I just want to leave you with this notion: every time we to tell someone that we love them, we are essentially planting the seed of GOD’S PRESENCE in their lives. So, the more you recognize hurt or brokenness within the heart of another, the more you should tell them that you love them. There is power in the words we speak forth. To simply tell someone that we love them gives us an opportunity to continually water that seed of GOD’S PRESENCE that we’ve previously planted in their hearts which allows HIM to fully blossom in their lives. And where THE PRESENCE of our GOD blooms— all things are made perfect.

Dear HEAVENLY FATHER, I enter YOUR HOLY PRESENCE this morning asking that YOU would instill within our hearts a greater understanding of what it truly means to love one another. LORD, give us the ability to recognize the hurt and brokeness in the hearts of the people around us and capacity to love them according to YOUR standard, not ours. LORD, today and everyday forth, help us to not only love with words, but through our actions and deeds as well. ABBA, through the love that YOU’VE given us and through YOUR PRESENCE in our lives, let our hearts beat with a love that honors YOUR heart. May we truly wear YOUR love everywhere we go. In the name of JESUS CHRIST, YOUR precious SON, and our LORD and SAVIOR— I pray, Amen and so be it.
