Celebrate The Value Of One

ASKS

(Luke 15:3-7 VOICE- JESUS told them a story. Wouldn’t every single one of you, if you have 100 sheep and lose one, leave the 99 in their grazing lands and go out searching for the lost sheep until you find it? When you find the lost sheep, wouldn’t you hoist it up on your shoulders, feeling wonderful? And when you go home, wouldn’t you call together your friends and neighbors? Wouldn’t you say, “Come over and celebrate with me, because I’ve found my lost sheep”? This is how it is in heaven. They’re happier over one sinner who changes his way of life than they are over 99 good and just people who don’t need to change their ways of life.)

We have the honor and privilege of serving a GOD WHO treasures every single one of our lives. In HIS eyes we are all priceless and have an incredible purpose to carry out, but how amazing it is to know that HE would leave everything and everyone else behind just to seek out that one broken heart not only to mend it’s pieces, but to mold it into something even more beautiful, precious, irreplaceable, and valued than before. I just love that HE loves us so much and that even when we’re completely shattered and mangled emotionally and spiritually, HE never gives up on us, but seeks after us to ensure that we never give up on HIM or ourselves.

As I was reading today’s focal passage, I thought about how many times I was that “one” feeling lost and broken in comparison to how many times GOD sought after me to restore my heart unto HIS and I simply could not think of or remember a time when HE wasn’t there to provide whatever it was I needed in that moment. However, what really tugged at my heart today was knowing that there are so many people who are so lost and so broken that even if HE sought after them, they wouldn’t recognize HIS PRESENCE because in not knowing HIM they wouldn’t understand or realize the cause in which HE came. (John 10:10 AMP- The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance; to the full, till it overflows.) It’s heartbreaking that so many people have never known or experienced the beauty, truth, and binding promise of the heart of JESUS in that verse.

JESUS said that we are to be the salt and the light of the world. (Matthew 5:13-16 NIV- “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your FATHER in heaven.) Just as salt enriches the food for our bodies, we are to seek after the brokenhearted and enrich their lives with THE WORD of GOD. And just as light shines giving us clarity and guidance for the path we are to take, we are to shine and radiate HIS love and guide their hearts back to HIS.

Seek after and celebrate the value of one, even if that “one” happens to be you because restoration and transformation takes place in THE PRESENCE of GOD and you will not leave HIS PRESENCE the same way you entered into IT! (Isaiah 60:5 NIV- Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come.)

My Desire Is _______.

ASKS

(Psalm 119:33-40 GNT- Teach me, LORD, the meaning of YOUR LAWS, and I will obey THEM at all times. Explain YOUR LAW to me, and I will obey IT; I will keep IT with all my heart. Keep me obedient to your COMMANDMENTS, because in THEM I find happiness. Give me the desire to obey your LAWS rather than to get rich. Keep me from paying attention to what is worthless; be good to me, as YOU have promised. Keep YOUR promise to me, your servant— the promise you make to those who obey you. Save me from the insults I fear; how wonderful are YOUR judgments! I want to obey YOUR COMMANDS; give me new LIFE, for YOU are righteous.)

This morning before prayer service actually started, I sat down and I started to pray the passage above over my own life because I desperately want every promise that GOD has whispered to my heart and told me was mine to manifest in my life. And I know that in order for that to happen, I have to stay focused on HIM and what HIS heart desires from me and expects of me. The moment that you feel that GOD has called you to do something changes your whole outlook on life and what truly matters to you. You have this vision that is so much greater than the one that you had for yourself. It’s like looking at your life, but through GOD’S eyes. So now what I desire for my life is so unbelievably eminent I know that I can’t do it without HIM.

Last month, my friend Ellie invited me to her women’s conference. The name of it was “Abundantly Loved” and that’s exactly what the experience poured into our hearts. That day set a fire in my heart that has yet to extinguish. … If you know me at all, you know that unless you had come to church with me you probably wouldn’t even know that I was there because even in a church full of people, my heart still requires intimacy with GOD. I usually sit quietly somewhere off to myself and I spent most of the conference doing exactly what I normally do, but little did I know that my presence there hadn’t gone unnoticed.

A couple hours before the conference was over, all of the women got together to eat and fellowship. And since I was visiting I didn’t know anyone there except for Ellie and bless her heart she was busy serving and taking care of everyone the whole day. She’s one of those people that you have to admire because she lives, breathes, and embodies the essence of what a woman of GOD should be. Anyways, since I didn’t know anyone, I just sat at the first table that I saw had an empty seat. When I sat down a lady smile at me, introduced herself, and said, “I’ve been wanting to tell you all day long that the glow of JESUS is all over you, especially in your face.”. That was the best compliment that I have ever received. And in that moment, I also saw the GOD in her because she wasn’t afraid to say what she felt GOD had put in her heart to tell me even though she didn’t know me. And from that moment on we just laughed and talked as if we were old friends. (Thank you so much, Holly!)

The reason her telling me that meant so much to me is because I’ve truly been striving to give GOD my all and she saw that in me before she even knew my name. I personally believe that you can’t truly serve GOD or minister to someone else’s heart until you’ve been broken yourself because pain brings about a humble and grateful heart towards GOD that nothing else in life can give you. The most beautiful heart is one that has been broken and then mended by GOD because there’s a sincerity in that truth when you’re trying to minister to another broken heart that is undeniable. There’s a saying that goes, “Thank GOD I don’t look like what I’ve been through.”, and I’m sure that we can all relate to that in some way. But for me, instead of looking like what I’ve been through, I prefer to look like the wisdom, healing, and strength that I’ve gained from it. And being at that conference that day was confirmation for me that GOD had already allowed me to do that.

I shared this with you guys to say this: even though we don’t always understand what GOD is doing in our lives, the beauty in our pain is that the GOD in us can use that same pain that left us broken to be someone else’s healing. (John 13:7 NIRV- JESUS replied, “You don’t realize now what I am doing. But later you will understand.”) GOD has a vision to use our lives to be a blessing to someone else’s and to be a part of something so much greater than the hurt that HE’S healed us from. I’m sure you’ve noticed that my title for this was, “My Desire Is _______.”. Fill in that blank with, “Whatever GOD Desires Of Me”. Allow GOD’S vision for your life to become your vision for your life because your greater lies in HIM and only HE can bring it to life within you.

I love you guys!

The Power Of Mustard Seed Faith!

ASKS

(Psalm 37:23-24 NLT- THE LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for THE LORD holds them by the hand.)

The day before yesterday, I was having a conversation with a dear friend and he asked me to pray for him, and so I did. … Right now, my church is doing an amazing event that we do twice a year called “21 Days Of Prayer” and if you’re wondering what that is, it’s exactly as it sounds. But just to clarify, every morning we have an incredible hour long prayer service for 21 days straight. It’s one of the most life-giving things that I’ve ever experienced and every year it becomes more and more amazing than the previous.

Anyways, I invited my friend to come to prayer service with me yesterday morning because after he had asked me to pray for him, he was on my heart and I really wanted to pray with him in person. But unfortunately, he wasn’t going to be able to attend with me. … Before I left for service I kept thinking about him and how I wanted to pray with him face to face, so I had this “grand” idea that since he couldn’t physically be there that I would just take a picture of him with me and pray over it because that way at least I would be able to see his face. When I got to service, I sat down, placed his picture in my lap, put my hand over his heart on the picture, and I began to pray speaking the promises of THE WORD of GOD over him. As I was praying, I asked GOD to touch my friend’s heart and then give me a sign that HE did. And I mean right after I said that, my phone started vibrating and it was my friend texting me. GOD literally answered my prayer in a matter of seconds.

The reason I decided to share this is because I want you guys to understand what the power of prayer has the ability to do with just a small, yet faithful gesture like something as simple as praying over a picture. (Luke 17:6 CEV- JESUS replied: “If you had faith no bigger than a tiny mustard seed, you could tell this mulberry tree to pull itself up, roots and all, and to plant itself in the ocean. And it would!”) Now, take a moment and imagine what GOD had the power to do through our prayers had my friend been able to actually attend service with me so that we could touch and agree by praying together. (Matthew 18:19-20 NLV- “Again I tell you this: If two of you agree on earth about anything you pray for, it will be done for you by MY FATHER in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in MY name, there I AM with them.”) The power of prayer truly has no limits. We have the power and ability to change lives with just mere words. How incredibly beautiful is that?!

I said all of that to reflect back to today’s focal verse and say this: know, believe, and understand that our GOD truly delights in us. HE created us and chose us as HIS own. HE cares about every single detail of our lives and when we take the time to enter into HIS PRESENCE with the concerns of our hearts, HE listens. HE listens and HE answers. Know that no word that you speak forth in THE PRESENCE of GOD will go unnoticed. (Isaiah 65:24 GNT- Even before they finish praying to ME, I will answer their prayers.)

Tattooed On The Very Hands Of GOD!

ASKS

(Hosea 14:4 CEV- You have rejected ME, but MY anger is gone; I will heal you and love you without limit.)

I think this verse displays just how extraordinary GOD’S love truly is for us because even when we’re unfaithful to HIM and to ourselves, HIS love for us never changes. (2 Timothy 2:13 AMP- If we are faithless; do not believe and are untrue to HIM, HE remains true; faithful to HIS WORD and HIS righteous character, for HE cannot deny HIMSELF.) As humans our character is sometimes modified by our emotions or our circumstances. Meaning, who we are or in some cases who we become can be shaped by the pain that we carry or by how we feel or by the emotional connection we associate with what we’ve been through. One of the most amazing things about GOD is that HE remains GOD no matter what. And unlike us, HIS love and faithfulness will always stand unchanging and unconditional.

In the midst of this beautiful disaster that we call life, we will all inevitably make mistakes and fall short of HIS Will, but the beauty in our shortcomings is that HIS grace allows us room to be human, but more importantly it grants our hearts the priceless benefit of receiving the beauty of undeserved redemption. In those moments when our feelings or our circumstances have gotten the very best of us and we tend to stray away from GOD are the very moments that HIS heart is longing for us to draw nearer to HIM. It’s in those intimate moments of desperation in HIS PRESENCE that allow us to literally feel the truth of HIS promises to us at work within us.

(Isaiah 49:16 NIV- See, I have engraved you on the palms of MY hands; your walls are ever before ME.) Imagine how much you would have to love someone in order to tattoo a picture of them or even their names on your hands for the whole world to see. In most cases, we wouldn’t dare think of doing such a thing. Now, imagine the fact that GOD has your name and face engraved on the palm of HIS hands and then think about how incredibly great HIS love is for you that HE would do the very thing that you wouldn’t even dream of doing. The verse from Isaiah says, “Your walls are ever before ME.”. To me that means that even when we get lost within ourselves and find it hard to muster up the strength to enter into GOD’S PRESENCE, our presence is always with HIM and every time HE opens HIS hands and HE see your face, HE remembers your heart and smiles because even when we’re struggling to be faithful to HIM, we are still HIS creation and still HIS beloved chosen.

The one question that you’ll never have to ask GOD is, “What do I mean to YOU?”, because we serve a GOD WHO not only shows us how deep HIS love runs for us, but wears a physical display of what we mean to HIM every single day. There is no greater love than the love of our SAVIOR. So, as GOD welcomes you into HIS PRESENCE with open arms remember to take a look at HIS hands, for it is there that you’ll see your face; the very reflection of HIS heart for you.

I love you guys!
